CIS Today

Compassion Immigration Services supports immigrants and newcomers across Delaware, including refugees and asylees, with practical assistance and connections to local resources. Our work supports stability, access to care and learning, and greater independence in everyday life.

Needs can continue after initial resettlement support or fall between separate programs. CIS helps people connect the practical steps across housing, employment, healthcare, education and family life.

Support begins with a conversation. Contact our team in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole or French.

How CIS Began

After directing Bethany Christian Services’ Delaware refugee resettlement office, Jan continued supporting refugees locally as a volunteer. Practical needs—including transportation, identification, employment and medical appointments—helped shape the work CIS now undertakes.

Jeremiah brought operational and technical experience to the organization. Today, CIS works with families across Delaware from its Wilmington office and in the community.

Personal Backgrounds in International Service

Jan and Jeremiah’s experience with Compassion Corps’ international work is part of their personal service background. CIS is a separate organization with its own Delaware-focused work.
