You can discuss your county and preferred language with staff.
Do not send Social Security numbers, immigration identification numbers, medical records, legal notices or other sensitive documents through ordinary email or text.
Documents
This website does not offer document uploads. If documentation is needed, CIS staff will discuss the appropriate way to provide it. Do not assume that email or text is a secure document portal.
Referrals
Agree with the person being referred before sharing their basic contact information. Detailed histories are not needed to start the conversation.
Using This Website
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to CIS’s Microsoft 365 mailbox. A request reference and delivery status are retained to prevent duplicate delivery. Message text is not stored in My CIS.
Service and resource selections can be carried in the link to Get Help; contact details are not included in that link. The message composer keeps unsent text in the current page; leaving or reloading it can discard that text.
Private request links expire after 72 hours and can be used once by an approved My CIS account with the same verified email. The relay keeps a keyed email fingerprint and a hashed link token for that check. Linking removes those fingerprints; the request reference remains to prevent duplicate delivery.
My CIS uses Clerk for sign-in and Neon for account records. CIS retains account information, service selections, request references and activity history. Encrypted backups are kept as seven daily and four weekly copies; copies can remain in backups after a record changes. Account activity alerts sent to CIS contain event summaries, not message text.
Contact CIS about correction or deletion of records. A request link expiring does not delete the message from CIS’s mailbox.
No separate CIS analytics service is connected. The web host processes connection information to serve and protect the website.
The Donate page loads Givebutter’s donation form. Givebutter’s privacy policy applies to that service. Telephone, text, email and external links use services outside this website.

Ask CIS how to correct information, discuss a privacy concern or request information about deletion. The team must confirm what applies to the records involved; CIS does not promise a deletion deadline here.
